Some more book illustrations

Also on a slightly but not entirely different note, I finally got to play Bioshock(only the first thus far). And as a person who thinks video games can be art, this was a pretty inspirational game. The monstrously twisted 1950s theme, awesome architecture, genuinely unsettling story lines, and great voice acting. It made me giddy. Think I might do some Little Sister sketches.

Website and Improvements

So my web portfolio can be found heeeeeeeere: www.katielawter.com

I'm oddly happy with it. I was at a point where I felt like there was no way I could tolerate a whole 12 pieces of mine and make them look good all huddled together. But now that its all together, it looks like a legit freakin' art portfolio and this pleases me greatly. Any suggestions would be cool, but after all the coding madness there is only so much I am willing to change at this point. XD

Also, for the sake of my portfolio I went back to a lot of pieces to improve upon them. Most of them weren't completed upon or there wasnt enough room so I didn't put them up. Heres one that did end up there. I cleaned up the face so much and the hair make much more sense. She was originally smoking but I couldnt get the cigar to work well on a small scale.

The Robot Who Stole My Heart Cover

It's hilarious that my favorite work is in a painting elective class. So be it. Yay oils.

Violence and Various Other Icky Things

Open assignment for sketchbook. Blood makes everything better. :)

Kind of torn about this last page. Kinda like it, kinda don't. I suppose it could be a decent brainstorm...maybe maybe.

Brain 'splosion

Huh, appears to have been awhile since I have posted anything. Been pretty damn busy though, so I feel like I SHOULD have a lot to show. But the lovely aforementioned chaos has kept me from taking decent photos of anything. Also a lot of the work looks nekkid by itself or involves website coding. Neither being pretty on their own, so it will come a little later. For now...uhhh...

We had an actual final project in sketchbook with an actual critique which is actually pretty damn nice. Feels like some time since I've had a real one. Based on one of my in class assignments. I like where its going so may play around with it some more.

And what has consumed my life this weekend: Book Illustration. Even though it should be an easy class(low expectations from teacher it seems) I'm experiencing death by way too many illustrations. I just can't make super super super short stories, so yah, a lot pics were necessary. Blargh. Also a different style from the norm. Here are a few examples of what I have been up to.
