Huzzah for Giving Myself Nightmares

She's not so bad once you get to know her.

Reference based! Yay! Ok, so perhaps a little background information is in order. This is Maya who has has appeared several times in my pictures, but rarely ever the same. Long story short, she is a princess of a corrupt totalitarian kingdom and she has gone through much emotional and physical trauma. She has acquired a number of ways to cope, including absorbing as much information as humanly possible, regardless of relevance or usefulness. The most important information is that which is based on the people she meets. So at times she can be a master of disguise, falling into other's personalities flawlessly. However, depending on her mood, they can be twisted caricatures of the original person. This is such an example, as her cousin Belinda. She is meant to be young in the scene, but the mature sexuality seems far more reminiscent of the character she is portraying.

Another quickie to practice reference based digi paintings. Yummy.

Supah Goffick

She's so gothic, she has to wear sunglasses when she opens the refrigerator. OH WHAT HIGH FIVE!

Another speed paint. And makes me wonder why the hell I abandoned this style for a whole quarter.

Digi Doodle

A quickie. Got to make sure to do some legit digital paintings some time soon.

Comicyness

So in order to find an appropriate style, appropriate coloring method, learn how to set up comic pages, work on expresssions, work on drama and all that other shit, and to become comfortable with my character's personalities I decided to do some random pages either completely irrelevant to the plot or slightly relevant. I really like some things about this page, and therefore hate the parts that went wrong even more. The line style is good in some places, horrible in others, but doesn't fit to what I want in some places even where it works. Blah blah blah. Also first time trying to shade with blacks and grays via photoshop. Not sure if I'm likin it or not. Works better in some places more than others. I think it looks better in black and white. Also, the last panel needs soooo much work.

Hardy Freakin' Har

Celebrity caricature contest at Kaman's. So I had some fun.

I haven't even seen this movie yet, but I was always a fan of Alice in Wonderland and it looked pretty visually awesome, so there you go. Couldn't really capture the likeness of the queen. And accidently made Alice's face look a tad manly.

This makes me laugh so hard. Seems caricatures become far more fun when I hate the subject matter. XD And I just felt the sudden urge to add a rainbow. No, I'm not saying Twilight is gay. That would be offensive to gay people. Cheers.

A Few Stragglers from Croatia and more

Two things I didn't get the chance to photograph since my computer no longer recognizes my sd card(any pointers there?). Also a reupload. The original was a bit blurry. Blurry is for lamers.

Currently participating in a local collaboration project called "we". A square panel is traded between three individuals. Here are the two blocks I have worked on so far.

Stage 1: This was my starting block. I did a simple sort of background since others would be working on top of it.

Stage 2: Didn't get a chance to take a picture of the first stage before I worked on top, but you can still get a good idea of what it originally looked like. My contribution is the freaky deaky woman in the foreground. It worked out much better than I expected and I'm pretty happy with it. Please don't screw it up, next person.

FACE FACE FACE

So I decided that despite how much I favor working with faces, I'm not nearly as good at drawing them as I damn well should be. SO I have been doing a lot of practice sketches. Here are a few examples.
